In the personal injury suit, your attorney must show that the careless, reckless, negligent or intentional act of the Defendant caused some injury which can be compensated by awarding money damages. For instance, if your attorney proves that the defendant acted carelessly, thereby breaching a duty he owed to you, and such careless behavior caused some harm to you, a loved one, or your property, he must still prove that the harm is of some significant nature. That is, just because someone
s behavior makes you mad, does not mean you can win a lawsuit against that person. Your attorney will have to prove that the Defendants actions caused something more than your foul mood! Your attorney must prove that your injury or harm rises to a level greater than that, your injury or harm must be something that society recognizes as compensable by money.
