Taxotere is manufactured by Aventis Pharmaceuticals and is used to treat certain types of
lung cancers. Taxotere was approved by the FDA in 1999.
Recently, the FDA discovered that healthcare professionals have been confusing Taxotere with another cancer fighting drug known as
Taxol. Because of the similarities in their names, the FDA issued a warning letter advising
doctors,
nurses and other healthcare professionals to take care in ordering either Taxotere or Taxol from
hospital pharmacies. The FDA recommends that healthcare professionals double check their patients' filled prescriptions in order to protect against such mistakes.
If you have been a victim of a serious Taxotere or Taxol mix-up, it may be important to
contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be
time limits within which you must commence suit.
